6. If my article is published, how will it be cited?


To ensure accurate citation tracking, articles are cited in a way that closely reflects traditional citation. However, since articles are not printed, basing citation on page numbers is not appropriate. PDFs of these articles have numbered pages, but the numbers are not part of the citation. Instead, almost all online-only articles in SpringerOpen journals are cited in the following form:

Authors: Title. [Journal name] [year], [volume number]:[article number].

For example:
Nanoscale Res Lett 2005, 6:306

For precise information on how to cite articles from a particular journal, visit that journal's website.
