Cooperative Cognitive Networks

The goal of this special issue is to gather recent research contributions and advances in cooperative cognitive networks (CCNs). More specifically, this special issue aims at fostering innovative and significant research on the design, implementation, usage, and evaluation of CCNs. For submission, it is encouraged not only results and insights obtained from working implementations but also those obtained from simulations and theoretical analysis. This special issue will also bring together those leading researchers and developers in fields of system design, performance analysis and application/implementation of CCNs.

Throughput analysis of transmit-nulling SDMA with limited feedback

We recently proposed a precoder codebook for a transmit-nulling space-division multiple access (TN-SDMA) to share spectrum with existing wireless services. Since a portion of the spatial subspaces of a multian...

Downlink interference minimization in cooperative cognitive LTE-femtocell networks

Femtocell is considered to be one of the most promising solutions for future indoor wireless communication. Due to the scarcity of spectrum resources, femtocells need to share the spectrum with other networks,...

Cooperative overlay secondary transmissions exploiting primary retransmissions

We introduce an overlay cooperative cognitive radio scheme, in which the secondary network transmits only during the retransmissions of the primary network. The secondary network makes use of multiple relays i...
