Intelligent Mobility Management for Future Wireless Mobile Networks

The increasing number of mobile devices is causing great changes to applications, networks and infrastructures while aiming to achieve seamless access and handover for services. To address the complex challenges for evolving network architectures along with the emerging needs of developers and users, novel research techniques and solutions are needed.

With the popularity of new networking technologies such as Software Defined Network (SDN) and cloud computing, current mobility management protocols and approaches may need to be re-evaluated and re-defined because new various challenges such as location update, signaling overhead, handover latency, security, privacy could be addressed by intelligent features to increase the performance of mobility management approaches and protocols.

This special issue will focus on the framework of “Intelligent mobility management” including  but not limited to intelligent applications for mobility management.
