Relevant socio-economic aspects for the diffusion of renewable energy technologies

Current experiences in industrialized as well as developing countries show that a broad range of socio-economic factors have an impact on the successful implementation and diffusion of renewable energy technologies. The special issue takes up results on the integration of social aspects in technology implementation on the local level as well as on the role of regional economic development and a supporting regulatory framework.
