Science-based options for Paris agreement implementation
The Paris Agreement has posed numerous complex issues that call for interdisciplinary research. The most important of them is probably the feasibility of the 1.5°C goal. This thematic series aims to form a collection of articles discussing the options for achieving such a goal.
The collection is expected to include the articles that clarify the socio-economic transformations needed to achieve the 1.5°C goal, the potential for carbon sequestration in natural and managed ecosystems, the efficiency of carbon sinks under changing climate, the level of transparency and verification that could be achieved in development of nationally determined contributions, the ability of global scenarios to integrate realistic national priorities, and the mutual consistency of the recently proposed solutions and strategies.
