V. Venkatramanan is an Associate Professor at the School of Interdisciplinary and Transdisciplinary Studies, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi. He holds a B.Sc. degree in Agriculture from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, an M.Sc. degree in Environmental Sciences from Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar and a PhD degree in Environmental Sciences from Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. He is a recipient of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research Junior Research Fellowship, Indian Agricultural Research Institute Senior Research Fellowship, and University Grants Commission Senior Research Fellowship. At IGNOU, he coordinates educational programmes in climate change and environmental sciences. His research interests include climate-smart agriculture, climate policy, bioenergy, conservation agriculture, remote sensing and GIS, biodegradation and green technologies for environmental management. He has published over 50 publications including research papers in peer-reviewed journals, and book chapters. He has edited 16 books including 6 books from Springer Nature.
Spyros Foteinis, PhD, Heriot-Watt University, United Kingdom
Spyros Foteinis is an experienced and adaptable chartered Environmental Engineer, with a strong track record of success both in academia and in industry. He has gained significant experience in reviewing and assessing big projects (e.g. the €6.8M renovation project of Louros small hydroelectric plant and €40M repowering project of 12 wind farms in the Greek islands). He has a sound research and academic background, with more than a decade of
experience in conducting research and working in multi-national consortium-based projects. He is an expert in environmental and coastal engineering, sustainability and renewable energy and he holds a PhD, two MScs and a BSc/MEng in relevant subjects. He has numerous scientific publications in high impact journals such as Nature, Energy, Journal of Cleaner Production, Science of the Total Environment, and Renewable & Sustainable Energy Reviews to name a few.
