About the Collection

Journal of Inequalities and Applications is presenting the Collection on 'Control and Optimization in Sustainability Applications.' Please note that this Collection is only open to the participants of 'Third Pacific Optimization Conference (POC2023).'

In an era of increasing environmental concerns and resource constraints, the role of control theory and optimization in driving sustainable developments has become paramount. We propose to edit  a special for Journal of Inequalities and Applications (JIAP) on a theme of advancing the understanding and application of control theory and optimization techniques in the realm of sustainability. This special issue is dedicated to the Third Pacific Optimization Conference (POC2023) to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 9-11 December 2023.

Scope and Topics:

The topics of  interplay of control theory, optimization, and sustainability with intensive inequalities involved are suitable for this special issue. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Optimal Resource Allocation: Innovative approaches to optimize the allocation of limited resources, such as energy, water, and materials, in sustainable systems
  • Model Predictive Control: Applications of model predictive control techniques to enhance the energy efficiency and performance of sustainable processes and systems
  • Multi-objective Optimization: Development of multi-objective optimization strategies to balance conflicting sustainability objectives, considering economic, environmental, and social aspects
  • Renewable Energy Systems: Control and optimization of renewable energy sources, energy storage, and distribution systems for improved sustainability and reliability
  • Smart Buildings and Cities: Utilization of control theory to design and manage energy-efficient buildings and urban infrastructure, fostering sustainable urban development
  • Circular Economy: Optimization of closed-loop systems and circular supply chains to minimize waste generation and promote resource reuse
  • Life Cycle Assessment: Integration of control strategies and optimization techniques in life cycle assessment to quantify the environmental impacts of products and processes
  • Climate Change Mitigation: Control and optimization approaches to mitigate the impacts of climate change through sustainable practices and policies
  • Transportation Systems: Enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of transportation systems through advanced control and optimization methods
