The editorial board of the Swiss Journal of Economics and Statistics disagrees with this view. Yet, it is acknowledged that there are few publication outlets for economists to make topical and elaborate contributions to public debate in Switzerland and beyond.

The series consists of a small number of papers written by distinguished economists with a strong profile in public debate.
The SJES welcomes suggestions for new contributions to the Commentary section. Please do not submit manuscripts for the Commentary section before you have received approval from the editorial board that the suggested Commentary is of interest to the SJES. Contributions must be full, self-contained papers. Authors do not need to pay an article-processing charge. All articles are open access.
