Technical Aspects of Hybrid Imaging

The work of nuclear medicine technologists (NMTs) has become indispensable for daily practice of medical imaging. Likewise, the importance of technologist involvement in academia is increasing and this has been thoroughly acknowledged in scientific papers in many journals. However, it still seems quite difficult to have research activities initiated and managed by technologists. Especially in the field of nuclear medicine, the current publication possibilities are dominated by physicians, physicists, clinical scientists. In the light of this shortcoming of publication platforms for NMTs, the European Journal of Hybrid Imaging is proud to introduce its new thematic series on Technical Aspects of Hybrid Imaging.
The aim of this thematic series is to provide a stage for NMTs to share the current state of NMT competencies applied to hybrid imaging on the different valences of nuclear medicine and provide a stage of discussion on their future trends. This series is a pivotal work in the scientific engagement of clinical technologists as well as a frame that reflects the changes and challenges present in the field.
