Recent earthquakes recorded by dense and various networks (e.g. :accelerometric, GPS, InSAR etc) have provided unprecedented data to understand physical processes of earthquakes and eartquake-triggered phenomena. This special issue on Eathquakes and Triggered hazards aims at gathering a set of significant contributions that have been presented at the first French-Japanese Symposium on Earthquakes and Triggered Hazards that has been held in Orleans, France (16-19 September 2015) under the joint auspices of the Disaster Prevention Research Institute (DPRI, Kyoto University) and the French Geological Survey (BRGM).
