Updates and glimpses on non-infectious and/or immune induced choroiditis

Editors: Carl P. Herbort Jr, MD, PD;  Piergiorgio Neri, MD PhD; Moncef Khairallah, MD, Ilknur Tugal-Tutkun, MD

Exploration of the choroid has become more performing in the last 2-3 decades with the development of powerful imaging methods. In the light of such new precise investigational possibilities the topic of non-infectious / immune mediated  inflammation of the choroid is explored addressing the anatomy and immunology of the choroid, investigational approach of choroiditis and diagnosis, appraisal and therapy of specific choroiditis entities.

  1. Tubercular association with serpiginous choroiditis, also called ‘serpiginous-like choroiditis’ or ‘multifocal serpiginoid choroiditis’ (MSC) is reported from world over, especially from endemic countries. Tho...

  2. Appraisals of Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada disease (VKH) have become progressively more complete, since its first description in 1906. The availability of new investigational methods has improved our knowledge of the ...
