Fashion and Textiles is calling for submissions to our Collection on ESG and Technology in the fashion and textiles industry.

Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) is a set of criteria used to evaluate a company’s impact on the environment, society, and corporate governance practices. Technology is playing an important role in helping the fashion and textiles industry to address ESG concerns.

Overall, ESG and technology are becoming essential for the fashion and textiles industry, as they can help companies operate more sustainably and socially responsibly. This collection aims to examine how emerging technologies spanning from raw materials, fiber and fabric processing to AI-assisted consumer experiences, etc., to promote the ESG principles of the fashion and textiles industry. 

New articles will be added here as they are published.

About the collection

Examples of technological applications to address ESG on an industrial scale include but are not limited to the use of 

1) digital tools to measure and track their environmental footprint 
2) advanced materials and techniques to reduce environmental impact 
3) blockchain technology to increase supply chain transparency and traceability 
4) artificial intelligence to better understand customer preferences and behavior.

This Collection welcomes submission of Research Articles. Before submitting your manuscript, please ensure you have read our submission guidelines. Articles for this Collection should be submitted via our submission system. During the submission process, under the section additional information, you will be asked whether you are submitting to a Collection, please select "ESG and Technology in the fashion and textiles industry" from the dropdown menu.

Articles will undergo the journal’s standard peer-review process and are subject to all of the journal’s standard policies. Articles will be added to the Collection as they are published.

The Guest Editors have no competing interests with the submissions which they handle through the peer review process. The peer review of any submissions for which the Guest Editors have competing interests is handled by another Editorial Board Member who has no competing interests.
